Hello Dolphins!

I am honored to be a part of the Lake Mary Elementary family! I am committed to ensuring Lake Mary stays true to its mission of promoting self-esteem, strong academic achievement, creativity and acceptance of responsibility through building relationships and establishing high academic expectations in a safe, positive environment that unifies staff, parents and community to prepare all students for success in real-life experiences.

I have served as an ESE teacher, primary/intermediate teacher, Educational Technology Facilitator, School Administration Manager, and Assistant Principal. I am married with two children and a goofy miniature dachshund. I love spending time with my family hiking and watching soccer games.

Your Proud Principal,

Mrs. Little

Hi, I’m Lynette Bornemann, the proud assistant principal at Lake Mary Elementary.  I am starting my 24th year in education with a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and another Master’s degree in Elementary Education.  I graduated from the University of Central Florida, both times and began my teaching career as a fourth-grade teacher in Osceola County.  My teaching experiences are in third and fourth grade, where I had the most wonderful experiences teaching in Osceola County, Craven County, North Carolina and Seminole County before moving in various other positions before becoming an Assistant Principal in 2017.

I enjoy spending time at the beach and traveling throughout the United States, my personal goal is to visit all 50 states, which I currently have visited 34.

My professional goal is to develop positive relationships with staff, students, families and community members and to help all students reach their full potential by providing a safe learning environment and strong classroom instruction.

Lake Mary Elementary truly feels like a home away from home, and I am grateful every day to be part of such a caring and dedicated school community. One of the things I love most about Lake Mary is the strong partnership between our families, staff, and community, all working together to support the success and growth of our students.

The best part of my role, however, is spending time with our students. Their curiosity, kindness, laughter, and enthusiasm make each day rewarding and remind me why I chose a career in education.

Before becoming the School Administration Manager, I served as a reading and instructional coach and taught both primary and intermediate grades. Throughout my educational journey, my passion has always been helping children learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Outside of school, I am a proud mom to a high school student who keeps me busy with volleyball games and activities. Watching her compete is one of my greatest joys. I also enjoy relaxing beach days, getting lost in a good book, and, whenever time allows, traveling and exploring new places. While we do not currently have any pets, I still dream of one day having a little farm filled with animals!

I am honored to be part of the Lake Mary Elementary family and look forward to partnering with our students, staff, and families for another wonderful year.
